AKIPRESS.COM - Famous Korean filmmaker Kim Ki-duk died of coronavirus in Latvia, Delfi reported.
He arrived in the country on November 20.
According to the Latvian portal Delfi, the director died in the hospital on the night of December 11 from complications associated with COVID-19.
The director of ArtDocFest / Riga Vitālijs Manskis said Kim Ki-duk was going to buy a house in Jurmala and apply for a residence permit, but did not show up for the meeting appointed. After that, his colleagues started searching him at hospitals.
The film director's death was also confirmed by his interpreter Daria Krutova.
South Korean Embassy in Latvia has not commented anything yet.
