hat geschrieben: Death Waltz Recording Company in conjunction with PentaMusic is proud to unleash another cult classic from the video nasty era (and their first in an ongoing series from the legendary CAM Records in Italy) with Carlo Maria Cordio’s musical score to Joe D’Amato’s notorious ABSURD (aka ROSSO SANGUE). A pseudo-sequel to ANTHROPOPHAGUS, the film reunited D’Amato with George Eastman, star of the previous film, and brought the action from Greece to America where the near-invincible Mikos escapes from a hospital to go on a typically gory killing spree. Using drills, band saws, axes, scissors, and an oven, Mikos terrorises the kids of an American (Italian) family until he gets his inevitable comeuppance courtesy of a drawing compass.

Das englische Label "Finders Keepers Records" bringt ebenfalls im Juni 2015 den Soundtrack Alejandro Jodorowsky "The Holy Mountain"

Bild
hat geschrieben: The Holy Mountain is one of the most psychedelic experiences you will ever encounter and thanks to the good folk at Finders Keepers the soundtrack to this cult classic is finally given a beautifully presented reissue. Cited as a favourite by everyone from Four Tet to Thurston Moore, Holy Mountain is so much more than your average cult classic soundtrack Don Cherry's compositions of a free form blend of sudden strings fake-psych LSDrums rare groove cosmic jazz that (some what like that description) perfectly reflects the unhinged and unforgettable hallucinatory semi-reality of the film itself. There is not really much we can say about this other than it's an unforgettable experience from start to finish and hats off to the the rare record detectives at Finders Keepers for finally bringing it forward for public consumption. Now... zoom back camera, real life awaits us! (quelle: bleep-newsletter)

Adan Jodorowsky - The Dance of Reality

Label: Finders Keepers Record / FKR076 LP
hat geschrieben: The Dance Of Reality is the final piece in the puzzling and highly psychedelic saga of unforgettable soundtracks of the work by cult film maker Alejandro Jodorowsky. The Dance Of Reality composed by Adan Jodorowsky (Alejandro's son) has sixteen sections of soaring string arrangements akin to the finest Morricone and is one of the most beautifully composed soundtracks you will ever hear. Great to finally have this available on vinyl as, much like the film's plot, the sounds within have left those of us having witnessed The Dance Of Reality thinking it could have been created by our own imaginations.

Cliff Martinez - Far Cry 4 O.S.T
Label: Invada
hat geschrieben: US composer Cliff Martinez continues to do what he does best: his soundtrack work includes the excellent Drive and Solaris, and this first attempt at writing music for a computer game sits comfortably within that discography. Set to the Himalayan scenery of the first-person shooter game Far Cry 4, he emulates the overtone throat singing of Tibetan monks over dizzyingly frantic beats ('Into The Fire'), juxtaposed with the mysterious calm of flutes and singing that permeate the landscape ('Secret Of The Goddess') and the high-impact 'Lives To Spare', applying pressure with tough percussion and rugged electric guitars.

Juli 2015 von Mondo:

Jay Chattaway - Maniac Cop 2 (MOND36)

Bild
hat geschrieben: Jay Chattaway’s spine-chilling soundtrack to Maniac Cop 2 finds a home on heavyweight vinyl for the very first time. 25 years after its release, the gruesome and extreme happenings of William Lustig 1990 classic are brought to life through this music alone. Sounds like those of Pyromania Death March really do paint a dimly lit scene of drama and fear. Composed and conducted by Chattaway himself, this OST firmly earns its place among the highest rank of horror soundtracks. Frightening, exhilarating and horrifyingly impressive

Howard Shaw - Scanners / Brood (MOND40)

Bild
hat geschrieben: Before writing scores for films like Philadelphia, The Silence Of The Lambs or The Lord of The Rings, it was his eerie soundtracks to the body horror works of David Cronenberg that paved the way for his legendary status: OST label Mondo is compiling Howard Shore's music to 1979’s The Brood and 1981’s Scanners on vinyl for the first time. With Cronenberg giving him a carte blanche, both films are a rare exhibition of the Canadian composer’s very personal style: maximalist, multi-layered orchestral arrangements and aggressive string plucking stand against abrasive synths sounds generated by a Prophet 5 and an ARP 2600, all united by a lethal dose of pitch-bending and dissonance.

Pieces - OST (Label: WRWTFWW RECORDS)

Bild
hat geschrieben: WRWTFWW RECORDS is fuming with excitement as it announces the release of the soundtrack for cult slasher movie Pieces (1982), available for the first time ever on vinyl!

A plot filled with so many holes it's impossible to follow, chainsaws cutting heads left and right, downright terrible acting, hilariously absurd scenes, and a brilliant soundtrack…Pieces is exactly what you think it is: one of the best movies ever made! Praised by the likes of Eli Roth (Hostel, Inglorious Basterds, Grindhouse...), this rare slasher has become a fan-favorite over the years and can be seen in horror movie festivals around the globe.

Its original score is surprisingly elegant, full of eerie jazz, menacing synths, and soulful escapades - a well balanced mix finding its influences in Giallo and Blaxploitation soundtracks of the 70s and classic horror movie music of the 80s.

This limited edition vinyl includes numerous songs by Italian composer Stelvio Cipriani, the man behind the superb soundtrack of Poliziottesco movie La Polizia Sta A Guardare (1973) whose main theme was reborn in 2007 on Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof, multiple scores for Spaghetti Western movies starring Tony Anthony, as well as a Nastro d’Argento award for best score for The Anonymous Venetian (1970).

Also found on Pieces are compositions by Carlo Maria Cordo who scored Joe D’Amato’s gorefest Absurd (1981) that some might know as Anthropophagus 2, Monster Hunter, Horrible or The Grim Reaper 2 - a movie so shockingly violent it became one of the Video Nasties of the UK and was successfully prosecuted under the Obscene Publications Acts in 1984.

Lucio Fulci’s frequent collaborator Fabio Frizzi (responsible for the music of classic horror movies Zombie aka Zombi 2, L’Aldilà aka The Beyond, City of the Living Dead aka The Gates of Hell and the list goes on) also makes a special appearance with the sexy « Cocktail Molotov ».

Original soundtrack of the 1982 cult classic horror movie Pieces available for the first time ever - Bonus: included on the soundtrack is an audio recording of Pieces’ original movie trailer! - Limited edition vinyl - 450 copies only.

John Carpenter's - Escape from New York

Bild

Label: Silva Screen
Cat-Nr.: SILLP1493
VÖ: Juli 2015
180 g Heavyweight Vinyl - over 20 minutes of previously unreleased music plus music from scenes deleted from the final print
hat geschrieben: London based soundtrack specialist label Silva Screen deliver the essential expanded soundtrack from John Carpenter’s gripping, dystopian action classic Escape From New York, not to mention with over 20 minutes of previously unreleased music plus music from scenes deleted from the final print. Set in the crime-ridden streets of a now maximum-security prison on Manhattan Island, Carpenter gets the mood just right, with searing moments of blistering synth lashing, ruminating soundscapes and pieces of funked-out industrial disco to keep the pace running. Anyone with nostalgia for the original film should note the eight segments of spliced movie dialogue, whilst revered sound designer Alan Howarth takes care of mastering duties to ensure this piece remains timeless.

Danny Elfman - Nightbreed (Original 1990 Score)

Bild

Label: Waxwork
Cat-Nr.: WW007
VÖ: Juli 2015
hat geschrieben: Waxwork Records offer up the deluxe LP re-issue of Danny Elfman's long out-of-print original soundtrack to Clive Barket's Nightbreed, on 'Decker' coloured vinyl. The 1990 dark fantasy film based on his novella Cabal tells the story of an unstable mental patient led to believe that he is a serial killer by his doctor. Elfman catches the drama perfectly by combining dark, fun, sweet and tribal all into the one score. He laces children's voices with a slew of ethnic drums and instruments, all in front of a full orchestra creating a truly unique musical tone.

Cannibal Apocalypse - Alexander Blonksteiner

Bild

Label: Death Waltz
Cat-Nr.: DW35
VÖ: Juli 2015
hat geschrieben: Deluxe 140gram red vinyl reissue of Alexander Blonksteiner soundtrack to cult Italian horror film Cannibal Apocalypse (aka Apocalypse Domani). The original score is frequently recognised as one of the best horror soundtracks. Blonksteiner delivers a funk fuelled journey, starting slowly with sweeping melodies and soft soothing flute, ‘Jane’, before moving eerily toward the climactic relief of ‘Boys and Girls’ at the midway point. It’s all tension, great keys and drums til the end thereafter. Great cover art by Eric Adrian Lee.
